This property is a historic one characterized by its Victorian architecture and has spacious rooms across four individual bungalows. The accommodation is located on 22 acres of tropical land surrounded by tea gardens and the land has been bestowed with a wide variety of trees, plants, flowers, insects and birds. According to hearsay the Balipara tea estate was established by the British Assam Tea Company sometime around 1875.

ACCOMODATION

4 independent bungalows with 12 double bedrooms and suites with individually attached bathrooms. The Charduar Lodge has 3 bedrooms and was originally Doctor Sahib’s Bungalow, The Balipara Camp has 2 bedrooms and was the Group Accountants Bungalow, The Basha was originally Visitor Agents Office and now houses 4 spacious bedrooms and lastly the Wild Mahseer Heritage Bungalow, which was the Visiting Agents Official residence and has 3 bedrooms.

DINING

This is a multi cuisine destination specializing on local Anglo-Indian food. Meals are normally served in the main lodge on a fixed menu basis.

Of the four bungalows, three of them, Wild Mahseer, Charduar Lodge, Balipara Camp also have individual kitchens – should you want to have special meals or cook yourself arrangements can be made. We will provide all the ingredients and help.

THE FIRST FLUSH

We are in the process of opening a tea house “The First Flush”, where there will be specialty tea for tasting and will be a casual sit out with savouries.

FACILITIES AND SERVICES

Laundry and ironing can be organized on a personal hand wash basis. There is no dry cleaning.

Car rentals and travel arrangement can be facilitated but these are best arranged prior to reaching Wild Mahseer.

Photo copying, facsimile, internet connectivity can be organized in the nearby villages and towns. Global roaming mobile facilities are available on premises.

THE MEETING PLACE

The meeting place is ideal for conferences, private parties upto 40 people and additionally we have one meeting room which accommodates 10 people. Electronic presentation equipment can be arranged on adequate notice.

FITNESS

Natural fitness in terms of walking, cycling, trekking, is highly recommended. Currently we are in the process of evolving adventurous trails. Buddhist Yoga and meditation are available on a program basis.

FISHING & SAFARIS

We are well equipped with gear for fast and still water fishing. Arrangements with the Nameri National Park for angling and river rafting on the Bhorelli river can be organized.

Additionally, we organize visits to other rivers including the Brahmaputra.

Safari visits can be made to Kaziranga and Orang National Park.

CREDIT CARDS

Credit cards are not accepted due to lack of telecom connectivity . We are hoping to have this online sometime in 2006. Currently cash in rupees and travelers cheques are acceptable.
